PENEI, Deborah Anne (Deb) (Née Shirkey)
Deb passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, at Christchurch Hospital, aged 67 years. Much loved partner of Henry, dearly loved mum of Joe and Ana, Tino, Ana and Harman, proud nan of Tasi, Reta, and their partners, Lincoln, Mila, Kai, Beau, Jade, and Cora, great-nan of Vianni, beloved daughter of Julie and Noel, and adored sister and best friend of Kaye and Kevin, fondly remembered by Sao, Jaime, Victoria and Harrison, and Olivia. Deb was a very special, fun and loving friend to many, especially to her ‘ladies’. She passed away much too young after a brave battle with cancer and her family were fortunate to be by her side throughout her final days. She fought with an incredible dignity right until the end and is now finally at peace. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
