Obituaries

McBAIN, Cynthia Valmai: died peacefully on Monday March 30, 2026.  Dearly beloved wife of Sydney McBain (deceased), and daughter of Malcolm (Mac) and Mollie (Norma) Monteath, sister to Mary Hawley, and brother to Dennis Monteath. She was a much loved mother and mother-in-law of Suzanne and David, Malcolm and Sue, and grandmother of Caitlin, Alec, Simone, Alex, Joss, Katie, Troy, Breeanah, and Robbie, great-grandmother to Blake, Noah, and Olivia. Many thanks to the carers and nurses of “The Village Palms” for their care of Cynthia. Messages may addressed c/- PO Box 39127 Christchurch 8545. A funeral will be held at the Avonpark Chapel, corner Kerrs and Pages Roads Linwood, Christchurch on Tuesday April 7th at 2.30pm.
