We will bring your loved one into our care and carry out enhanced mortuary care before they are placed in a standard sized simple cremation casket.
Preparation of documents
You’re welcome to meet with us at one of our venues, or if it feels easier, we can come to you. We’ll guide you through everything and take care of the paperwork for you, including the Death Certificate.
The cremation
You have the option to spend some private time before the cremation at the Wigram Crematorium, if that feels right for you. Afterwards, we’ll take care of the cremation and your loved ones ashes will be placed into an urn.

Come together with family and friends after the cremation to remember and celebrate in your own way. A celebrant will support and guide you through the memorial, helping you create something that feels personal.
The memorial celebration can be held at Linwood or Wigram (up to 2 hours), and includes either a photo tribute with music (up to 70 photos) or 50 contemporary postcards, along with light refreshments for up to 50 guests.

What is a direct cremation in NZ?
A direct cremation is a cremation service where there is no opportunity to be with your loved one before the cremation. We name this the Simple Cremation option in Christchurch Crematorium. If however, you wish to include a viewing the Family & Friends option may be more suited to you.
What is the cheapest funeral you can have?
The simplest funeral is the Simple Cremations option. Which includes, the transfer of your loved one, preparation of documents and the cremation. We kept this direct cremation option very simple with an affordable cost of $3,395.
Who is eligible for the Winz funeral grant?
A Funeral Grant can help with some of the funeral costs of someone who has died. Our funerals can be covered by funeral grants.
