We will bring your loved one into our care and carry out enhanced mortuary care before they are placed in a standard sized simple cremation casket.
Preparation of documents
You’re welcome to meet with us at one of our venues, or if it feels easier, we can come to you. We’ll guide you through everything and take care of the paperwork for you, including the Death Certificate.

You’re welcome to personalise the space with a photo board and memory table, and play your music through our audio system. During your time together, one of our team will be right there with you, offering guidance and support throughout.
The cremation
Our specialists will take care of the cremation for you. Afterwards, you’ll receive your loved ones ashes in an urn within three working days.

What is a direct cremation in NZ?
A direct cremation is a cremation service where there is no opportunity to be with your loved one before the cremation. We name this the Simple Cremation option at Christchurch Crematorium Funerals. If however, you wish to include a viewing the Family & Friends option may be more suited to you.
